BYU students play with blocks to engineer better homes for Kenyans

A team of BYU student engineers developed an innovative style of interlocking blocks, made from a soil mixture that’s only 5 percent cement. The blocks, and the manual machine the students built to manufacture them, will help rural Kenyans build themselves sturdy homes to replace the mud-and-stick huts many of them use now.
