Academic Vice President Brent W. Webb recently announced the appointment of D. Gordon Smith as dean of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.

Brigham Young University administrators announced the finalized purchase of approximately 81 acres of land on Y Mountain. The university now owns the full length of the Y Mountain Trail and the block Y, as well as the area around the Y.

Starting in 2017, the third Friday in March will be an academic holiday for students at Brigham Young University. Academic Vice President Brent W. Webb announced Wednesday the addition of a class holiday to the academic calendar.

John R. Rosenberg has been appointed associate director of the Brigham Young University Faculty Center by Academic Vice President Brent W. Webb. Rosenberg has just finished serving 10 years as dean of the College of Humanities.

Following the announcement that Brigham Young University added Women's Lacrosse and Rugby to its extramural sports program, two coaches have been named.

Brigham Young University will implement a 2.9% increase for undergraduate tuition and a 2.8 percent increase for graduate tuition for the 2016-2017 academic year. The undergraduate rate per semester will raise from $2,575 to $2,650.

Brigham Young University is adding two new women's teams to its extramural sports programs, which currently includes five teams. The two new sports are women's rugby and women's lacrosse.

J. Aaron Popham has been named the first director of BYU's Educator Preparation Program.

Professor and researcher Martin Fujiki is replacing Christopher Dromey as the chair of the Department of Communication Disorders in the McKay School of Education.

Student Y and G Lot Parking will Cost $60 Per Semester. Starting this fall parking in 'Y' and 'G' student lots (see "Parking", "students" and "graduate students") will now cost $60 per semester*. 'Y' and 'G' lots will be free in spring and summer terms. Evening and weekend parking will be free.

Construction on a new central building and a new residence hall will begin this fall at the Heritage Halls on-campus housing area.

BYU is continuing the Campus Drive Redesign project this summer. On May 2, 2015, the university will close the through street between Heritage Drive and North Campus Drive permanently as part of its efforts to create a safer, pedestrian-friendly environment and unify the campus.

Brigham Young University announced today that beginning Fall Semester 2015 it will provide a shuttle service to campus at no cost to student riders consisting of five routes off campus. The shuttle is part of BYU’s efforts to promote a safe, pedestrian-friendly campus.

Beginning in Winter Semester 2015, the Testing Center will be adjusting hours to better support university priorities.
