Blue Foam, Blue Pancakes, Dances and More: BYU Student Homecoming Activities

BYU students will add their own brand of fun to Homecoming 2014 and its theme, 'Take Flight,' with events as varied as frolicking in True Blue Foam or selecting from several dance options.

Noonday Events
Wed.-Fri., Oct. 14-17, Noon, Brigham Square

Student events will begin Tuesday (Oct 14) with a free barbecue at noon in Brigham Square. The Cougar Marching Band will play lead students from the Marriott Center Opening Ceremonies to Brigham Square where they can choose from hot dogs or pulled pork sandwiches.

Wednesday (Oct. 15) will be a time for BYU lovin.’ Enormous letters (B, Y and U, of course) will be available for students to describe what they love about BYU.

Other activities will include Balloon Craze Day Thursday (Oct. 16), where an airplane toss is planned. Students can write a card detailing their dreams and aspirations, which will then be attached to one of hundreds of blue and white balloons and released.

Sports Craze is planned Friday (Oct. 17). In addition to an inflatable large football toss, a couple of surprises are planned. There will be several sports-themed photo opportunities using cardboard cutouts.

Wednesday is also a day for True Blue Foam from 6 to 8 p.m. at Helaman Field. One of the most anticipated student events, those participating need to bring student identification. Free True Blue Foam T-shirts will be given to the early arrivers.
