Brigham Young University Academic Vice President Shane Reese has announced the appointment of Rick Anderson as university librarian at the Harold B. Lee Library. He succeeds Brian Rennick who has been interim university librarian since December 2019 following the passing of university librarian Jennifer Paustenbaugh in November.

From stunning collections of art to retro media consoles and a swimsuit exhibit, BYU’s Harold B. Lee Library (HBLL) has more than a few treasures hidden within its walls – and two student illustrators are trying to prove it.

In the late 1800s, Robert Baden-Powell—a war hero, adventurer, actor and sometimes a spy—sat down with a pencil and paper and wrote out his idea of “scouting for boys.” That document, along with hundreds of others that show the worldwide development of scouting for girls and boys, is safely stored in the Scout Association Archive in Gilwell Park, England. For years, anyone wanting to research the origins and history of scouting needed to travel to the archive and work with the archivists.

The BYU Family History Library has expanded it's genealogy classes offerings, now providing online webinars to let anyone learn about family history right from home.
