Name: Cheri Koford
BYU employee since... 2013
My job at BYU is… in my opinion, the best job at BYU: Museum of Art Store Manager. I am surrounded by beautiful works of art, inspiring colleagues and energetic students. Because I select all of the merchandise that we carry at the MOA Store, I basically get to shop every day!
I’m currently reading… The God Who Weeps by Fiona and Terryl Givens.
My favorite BYU tradition is… lighting the Y during campus events, because it unites the campus and it’s beautiful.
My advice to incoming freshmen is… say hello to everyone, be nice to everyone. You never know who you might meet.
My favorite spot on campus… changes. Right now it’s the Law School because of the new display they have installed titled “Human Dignity,” but I also love the Harman Building (it is beautiful), the Maeser (it’s academic tradition) and of course, the MOA.
My advice to graduating seniors is… realize that there still is a lot to learn, be meek in your daily lives and read Elder Bednar’s talk, “Walk in the Meekness of My Spirit.”
The best-kept BYU secret is… the MOA Store, wink.
I became a BYU fan when… my husband and I would bring our children to campus for sports camps and EFY.
My go-to comfort food is… mashed potatoes.
You’ll never find me without… Burt’s Bees Lip Balm.
My fondest memory from my childhood is… spending time with my grandma. Grandma Ruby was one of the strongest women I have known. She taught me many life lessons and how to cook and sew.
My dream car is… a red convertible Volkswagen Beetle.
