The BYU School of Music presents Woodwind Chamber Night Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m., in the Madsen Recital Hall of the Harris Fine Arts Center. The event is free and no tickets are required.
The showcase features a variety of groups including woodwinds. The audience can expect one woodwind quintet, two flute and harp duos, a trio with piano and woodwinds and a flute and clarinet duo.
The performance will also feature a quartet of woodwind players who will perform music of the Renaissance, something almost never heard of. Musicians will also perform music from the 1500s on crumhorns, which also tends to be unusual in concert settings. The majority of the pieces will range from Bach to the 21st century.
The School of Music will also present performances from other small ensembles during the month of November. Gamelan Bintang Wahyu will perform on Nov. 17. Percussion Ensemble and Brass Chamber Music will both perform on Nov. 18. Lastly, the String Chamber Ensemble and the Flute Choir will perform on Nov. 30.
