Relief Society General President to present CES fireside March 7

Bonnie D. Parkin, Relief Society general president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will speak at a Church Educational System fireside Sunday, March 7, at 6 p.m. in the Marriott Center on the Brigham Young University campus.

The fireside will be broadcast live on the BYU-Television and BYU-Radio satellite networks and on byubroadcasting.org.

It will be rebroadcast Sunday, March 14, on KBYU (Channel 11) at 6 a.m. and 11 a.m., on BYU-Television at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., on KBYU-FM (89.1) at 8 p.m. and on BYU-Radio at 6 p.m.

Sister Parkin was called to serve as Relief Socity general president in April 2002. She has previously served as second counselor in the Young Women general presidency and a member of the Relief Society general board.

Sister Parkin also served with her husband, James L. Parkin, while he presided over the England London South Mission.

BYU completes first-ever campus-wide sustainability assessment, earns distinction

BYU has been recognized as a STARS Gold Institution by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). The sustainability report from AASHE considers BYU’s commitment to sustainability in academics, student and public engagement, operations, planning and administration, as well as its unique approach to earthly stewardship. BYU is one of only 140 institutions in the country to have been awarded a gold rating by AASHE.
