Poet Cornelius Eady will read from his works at an English Department Reading Series event at noon on Friday (March 7) in the Harold B. Lee Library auditorium at Brigham Young University.
Eady is an associate professor of English and the director of the poetry center at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is a recipient of the Prairie Schooner Strousse Literary Award and has published many books.
His book, Victims of the Latest Dance Craze, was the Lamont Poetry Selection of The Academy of American Poets. Another of his works, The Gathering of My Name, was a Pulitzer Prize nominee.
The English Department's Reading Series is designed to give students and faculty exposure to international contemporary writers while providing a forum for local writers to share and discuss their works. For more information, contact Paia Palmer (paia_palmer@byu.edu).
