Parking restrictions in force during BYU inauguration

University Police will close the Marriott Center parking lots on the Brigham Young University campus from midnight Monday (Sept. 8) to noon Tuesday (Sept. 9) in conjunction with the inauguration of President Cecil O. Samuelson.

Y Lots 19 and 20 to the north and northeast of the Marriott Center will be barricaded and parking restrictions will be enforced, said Lt. Aaron Rhoades, manager of parking and traffic services at BYU.

"The university has invited a number of special guests to the inauguration," he said. "In order to accommodate those guests, parking will be restricted to pass holders."

University Police will check for passes at the parking lot entrances.

Students and faculty who usually park in those lots can still park in lots 45, 48 and 49 around LaVell Edwards Stadium and in lot 22 at the Monte L. Bean Museum.
