The BYU School of Music presents OcTUBAfest Friday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m., in the Madsen Recital Hall of the Harris Fine Arts Center. The student concert is the following night, Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the same location.
The Friday performance features Øystein Baadsvik, a Norwegian tuba soloist and chamber musician. The unique virtuosity and musicality Baadsvik’s brings to the tuba has established him as the exemplar of the instrument. The Saturday night performance features BYU Tuba performers and other guest artists.
“OcTUBAfest has been presented for over 35 years and each year brings a wonderful guest artist,” said Steve Call, director of the event. “Øystein Baadsvik is not only a wonderful Tuba player but really a great and entertaining performer.”
