"Hamilton" star Renée Elise Goldsberry brings her versatile talents to the BYU stage in a concert filled with songs that have shaped her life and helped forge her career.

Goldsberry is known for her role as Angelica Schuyler Church in the original Broadway cast of "Hamilton," for which she won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She is the second Tony Award-winning "Hamilton" star to perform at BYU following Tony Award-winner Leslie Odom Jr., known for originating the role of Aaron Burr, who headlined last year's BRAVO! season.

"Renée Elise Goldsberry is a singular, enormously engaging talent. She is completely capable and comfortable performing live or working in various media," said BRAVO! Producer Jeffrey Martin. "I'm so pleased she has agreed to join us in Provo and look forward to experiencing her personality and unique mix of music within the intimate setting of the de Jong Concert Hall."

Goldsberry says she's genre blind when it comes to music. "A good song is a good song," she said. In the past she's played concerts filled with jazz standards, pop and rhythm and blues hits, and her own original tunes.

"I am excited to perform all of these styles, and include a fresh twist on some of my Broadway favorites at BYU," Goldsberry said.

Goldsberry has a diverse background covering Broadway, film, TV and concert halls. Past Broadway roles for Goldsberry include Nettie Harris in the original Broadway cast of "The Color Purple," Nala in "The Lion King" and Mimi in the closing company of "Rent." Off-Broadway appearances include several Shakespeare productions for the Public Theater's New York Shakespeare Festival.

TV and Film credits include recurring roles on "The Good Wife," "Law & Order: SVU" and "The Following." She also recently appeared in "Sisters" with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, an in "Every Secret Thing" with Diane Lane and Elizabeth Banks.

This year, Goldsberry completed a TV movie for HBO, based off the book "The Secret Life of Henrietta Lacks," and is currently in production for the upcoming Netflix series "Altered Carbon."
