The BYU School of Music presents its annual Jazz Showcase Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 7:30 p.m., in the de Jong Concert Hall of the Harris Fine Arts Center.
The showcase features the school’s premier jazz groups, with performances by the Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Voices, Jazz Legacy Dixieland Band and Synthesis. The four distinct groups offer music to appeal to multiple audience types.
“The showcase brings a more interactive environment than a normal concert,” said Mark Ammons, director of the Jazz Ensemble. “It will be a relaxed, fun and lively atmosphere with music that won’t put you to sleep.”
