Elder Jensen was called to full-time Church service June 6, 1992, being named to the Second Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called to the First Quorum of the Seventy on April 1, 1995. He has also served in Area Presidencies in Central and South America.

In the Church Education System, he taught seminary, wrote curriculum and trained prospective seminary teachers before he was called as a mission president of the Colombia Cali Mission from 1975 to 1978. After his release, he returned to the Church Educational System where he worked as director of curriculum. He also served for a time as director of training for the Missionary Department.

Born in Mapleton, Utah, Elder Jensen received his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from BYU.
