Name: Janine Greene
BYU employee since... June 2011
My job at BYU is… counselor in the Honor Code Office. Contrary to what some may think, my job is not to stand behind a bush on Brigham Square with a clipboard in hand to see how many students I can catch breaking the Honor Code. Rather, my job is to educate students regarding their commitment and to help them do and be better.
Currently, I’m working on… the gap between who I am and who I want to be.
I get most excited about my work when… I can help a student feel peace once again.
The best-kept BYU secret is… two temples within walking distance to campus!
My favorite quote is… “I don’t know how to thank you. Then I will tell you. There is only one way I care for. Do better, and grow better, and be better.” – The Princess and Curdie by George MacDonald.
My favorite TV show growing up was… a book.
On Saturday mornings you’ll find me… turning off my alarm.
My go-to comfort food is… soup in the winter and salad in the summer.
I’m currently reading… The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place and Leadership and Self-Deception.
