My job at BYU is… director of Marketing Communications for the Division of Continuing Education. I also teach Marketing Communications 320 as an adjunct faculty member in the Marriott School.
Currently I’m working on… social media strategy for EFY, video for BYU Women’s Conference and writing copy for the BYU Books for Young Readers website.
I get most excited about my work when… strategy collides perfectly with creativity and our clients do the happy dance.
Students don’t think I notice… when they’re grumpy over an assignment or what happened in their class before mine.
The best advice I’ve ever got about teaching is… don’t just know your students; love them—all of them.
My favorite lecture to teach is… how to get a job. I joke with them that all I want in return is just 10 percent of their future income. So far I’ve collected $0.75.
My advice to graduating seniors is… you are now a freshman in your own private university. Read the books you have always wanted to. Write a short story, research like you had a huge grant, be nice to people. Stay curious and stay amused.
I’ve been a BYU fan since… I came down from Idaho as a kid and watched a BYU track meet. It’s in my DNA.
One item on my bucket list is... to create a bucket list. On that list would be seeing U2 perform live in Ireland.
My favorite TV show growing up was... Happy Days. I wanted to be like the Fonz. He even made Shakespeare cool.
On Saturday mornings you’ll find me… training and flying falcons in the west desert.
The title of my autobiography would be… Staying Amused.
You’ll never find me without… a pen and something to write on.
I’m most looking forward to… my next meaningful conversation with my family or friends over a relaxing meal and dessert.
