Congo massacre topic of BYU lecture May 11

Brigham Young University's David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies will host an expert in African and international affairs at its Global Focus Lecture Series Wednesday, May 11, at noon in 238 Herald R. Clark Building.

Rigobert N. Butandu, author of "Forgotten War: The Criminal Invasion of the DR Congo," will speak on "The African First World War: An International Conspiracy." The public is welcome to attend.

He maintains that the United States, UN and the international community at large failed to condemn Rwanda and Uganda for their actions that resulted in the death of over three million Congolese and the country's plunder.

Butandu received a master's degree in international and comparative law from BYU in 2000.
