Change to off-campus dialing procedure goes into effect Oct. 26

Effective Friday, Oct. 26, dialing 9 before dialing an off-campus number from a BYU campus telephone will prevent those calls from completing.

At that time, the speed dials on campus phones will be updated automatically to remove any leading 9 that would prevent a successful call. The morning of Oct. 26, please verify that this update has taken place. Direct your browser to myipphone.byu.edu and click on the extension or phone you wish to verify.

Only the IP phone speed dials will automatically update. Any other automated off-campus numbers will need to be manually updated, including numbers programmed into fax machines or otherwise embedded in computer processes. Please also revise any posted off-campus dialing instructions.

Long distance calls still require dialing 1 and will still require a campus long distance code.

For more information, call ext. 2-4000 or email it@byu.edu.
