BYU Taggart Symposium Sept. 18-19 to offer instruction for insurance professionals

Keynote speaker will be Stephen R. Covey

Brigham Young University will host the 20th annual Grant Taggart Symposium, featuring keynote speaker and nationally known author Stephen R. Covey, Thursday and Friday, Sept. 18-19, in the BYU Conference Center.

The Taggart Symposium, co-sponsored by BYU ‘s Marriott School and the Utah Chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals, will provide educational sessions for professionals in the life insurance and financial services industry.

Registration is $89 for first-time attendees, $135 for agents and complimentary for BYU students. For registration information, visit ce.byu.edu/cw/gtaggart or call Conferences and Workshops at (801) 422-4853.

The symposium, themed “Turn Success into Significance Today,” will feature classes and workshops specifically provided for agents, managers and staff. Topics include ethics, life insurance, financial planning, health, long-term care and developing passion for the business.

The symposium was named after Grant Taggart, a past president of the National Association of Life Underwriters. He also served as president of the Million Dollar Round Table. The day before he passed away, he expressed a desire to see BYU and the life insurance industry joined in a common cause.

The symposium is part of the Marriott School of Management's Financial Services Institute, which seeks to join the educational process with the experience of practicing professionals in the financial services industry.
