BYU Symphonic Band plans Oct. 27 concert

The Symphonic Band at Brigham Young University, conducted by Kirt Saville, will be performing in the de Jong Concert Hall Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the event at $6 are available at byuarts.com or through the Fine Arts Ticket Office, (801) 422-4322.

The Symphonic Band features approximately 85 student musicians performing full concert band instrumentations. The concert will feature music by Richard Wagner, Robert Jager and John Philip Sousa. They will also be premiering “In Store” by Kyle Kindred.

BYU study finds the real reasons why some people choose not to use artificial intelligence

In a recent study, BYU professors Jacob Steffen and Taylor Wells explored why some people are still reluctant to use GenAI tools. While some people might worry about an AI apocalypse, Steffen and Wells found that most non-users are more concerned with issues like trusting the results, missing the human touch or feeling unsure if GenAI is ethical to use.
