BYU sponsors Early Breast Cancer Detection Campaign in March

BYU Human Resource Services is sponsoring the 13th annual Early Breast Cancer Detection Campaign March 6-24.

BYU has arranged with DMBA and Utah Valley Regional Medical Center to present this service. UVRMC will provide high-quality care in a comfortable and professional atmosphere. Female personnel and spouses of male personnel with DMBA health care plans are invited to make appointments for the special BYU screenings in March.

Appointments for the mammograms may be made on-line at www.byu.edu/hr/wellness/b_cancer.htm. Additional information is available by calling Sharman Hafen at ext. 2-5723.

BYU’s Compliant Mechanisms Research lab, inspired by the ancient art of origami, is building a foldable, compact design that could help launch satellite systems to space in a rocket. After five years of research, a team led by professors Larry Howell and Spencer Magleby has succeeded in creating foldable antenna systems than can deploy off space rockets and permanently open to enhance satellite systems.
