The BYU School of Music presents its BYU Philharmonic concert on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall of the Harris Fine Arts center.
The concert features a program of French music. The music in the first half—with works from Ravel, Debussy and Chabrier—showcases the evocative colors and landscapes that became the musical equivalents of French artistic impressionism. Following the intermission, the orchestra presents the famous auto-biographical Symphonie fantastique by Hector Berlioz, under the baton of guest conductor and former BYU student, Dr. Joel Neves.
“Symphonie fantastique is one to the greatest and most intriguing symphonies ever written,” Katseanes said. "It should be on everyone’s 'Not to be Missed' list."
