Brigham Young University will hold a single annual commencement ceremony each year starting April 2019.
A single commencement ceremony will better provide a quality commencement experience for all graduating students, guests, faculty and administration.
The new commencement ceremony will be held on Thursday morning, a change from its traditional starting time of 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon. College convocation ceremonies will begin Thursday afternoon with additional convocation ceremonies on Friday.
Students graduating during the academic year of the commencement are invited to participate in the April commencement ceremony of that year. As an example, students graduating in December 2018, April 2019, June 2019 and August 2019 would participate in the April 2019 commencement exercises.
Additional information about the transition to an annual commencement will be made available in the coming months.
