BYU hosts annual Summer Institute of Applied Statistics June 16-18

The 29th Annual Summer Institute of Applied Statistics, sponsored by the Brigham Young University Department of Statistics, will be held June 16-18 on the BYU campus.

The topic will be "Spatial Modeling" featuring Dave Higdon, technical staff member in the Statistical Sciences Group at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

The workshop will develop approaches for modeling processes with spatial dependence. A large portion of the course will be devoted to model development, estimation and inference, with particular emphasis given to Bayesian approaches. The methods presented will be illustrated using a variety of application areas.

Registration information for BYU faculty and students and LDS Church employees can be obtained by contacting Kathi Carter, Department of Statistics, at 230 TMCB, BYU, Provo, UT 84602; e-mail kathi_carter@byu.edu; (801) 422-4506.
