The Brigham Young University Department of Dance presents dancEnsemble: an evening of new choreography on Friday, March 10 and Saturday March 11 at 7:30 p.m. with a Saturday matinee performance at 2 p.m. in the 169 Dance Studio Theatre of the Richards Building.
Tickets are $6 and can be purchased in person at the BYU Ticket Office in the Harris Fine Arts Center or Marriott Center, by phone at 801-422-2981 or online at byuarts.com.
The performance will consist of eight new short works of choreography created and performed by BYU dance students and directed by Graham Brown.
“This dynamic and thoughtful evening of choreography by dancEnsemble students covers a broad range of physical, emotional and aesthetic landscapes,” said director Graham Brown. The audience can expect to observe humor, redemption, sorrow, rhythmic complexity, quirkiness, empowerment and of course a lot of fierce dancing.”
The BYU dancEnsemble is a dance company within the contemporary program that provides students the opportunity to develop and refine their performance and choreographic skills through studio work, out-of-class rehearsals and performances.
