The BYU School of Music presents the BYU Chamber Orchestra in concert, Thursday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. The performance will take place in the de Jong Concert Hall of the Harris Fine Arts Center.

The audience can expect classic dance masterworks from Brahms, Hayman, Arnold and Strauss. The concert features dance music from around the world, including Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, France, England, Argentina, and the United States.
“The Chamber Orchestra will tour to the Philippines next May,” said Kory Katseanes, director. “We will take much of this music with us as we represent BYU and the School of Music during those three weeks.”
Filled with approximately 47 musicians, the BYU Chamber Orchestra is an elite ensemble. The musicians are part of the BYU Philharmonic and are then chosen through audition for the orchestra. The group has performed throughout the U.S., Europe, and China, and is one of the most widely-traveled university orchestras in the nation. The BYU Chamber Orchestra has earned the “Highest Recommendation” rating by the National Endowment of the Arts.
