BYU to celebrate National Student Employment Week April 2-6

The Brigham Young University Student Employment Office will honor student contributions to the university by celebrating National Student Employment Week April 2-6.

During the celebration, the nominee from BYU for National Student Employee of the Year will be announced.

The Student Employment Office encourages individual departments to take the week to honor their student employees for the unique work they do. Recognition could include holding a potluck lunch or dessert party, presenting awards or certificates, decorating a student’s area or office door and sending thank-you notes to student employees.

Departments are also urged to remind their student employees to visit the Student Employment Office in 2024 Wilkinson Student Center during the week for refreshments and prize drawings.

To find effective therapies for chronic low back pain, and to help curb opioid addiction, the NIH created the Back Pain Consortium Research Program. BYU is one of 10 major universities (along with Harvard, Ohio State and the University of Utah) tapped to help with this effort, and new work from researchers here has led to a system to prescribe patient-specific back pain remedies like doctors would prescribe medication.
