This weekend the BYU Ballroom Dance Company will present their annual Concert “Swing N Sway” at the BYU Marriott Center. This spectacular show is presented by 160 student dancers.

Audience members will be swept up in a show that presents traditional ballroom and Latin dances in a contemporary and theatrical setting. The concert will debut of the Ballroom Dance Touring Company competitive medley’s “Ode to Joy” and “Ritmo Del Corazon” which won both the British and United States Formation Championship Titles.

Additionally, the current United States amateur cabaret champions, Ben Ralph and Kayci True will present their award-winning cabaret “Piece by Piece.” The choreography, costuming and theatrical spectacle make this a must-see show for audience both young and old.

"Performing in concert is always one of the highlights of the year," Kayci Treu said. "There's such an awesome energy that comes from dancing with the whole company and it's always a great show. Performing the new medleys and our new cabaret adds to the excitement. We've worked so hard all year and I can't wait for the audience to see the result."

On April 29, the BYU Ballroom Dance Touring Company will travel to South America for the first time. For three weeks they will present their concert in major cities throughout Chile and Argentina. The company will perform at a local charity in Chile that helps provide medical attention to support children who are victims of fire. In Argentina, they will participate in an area wide broadcast to the South America region of the LDS church.

The performance will be Apr. 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. with a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. in the Marriott Center at BYU. Tickets are $16 and are available in person at the BYU Ticket Office in the Harris Fine Arts Center or Marriott Center, by phone at 801-422-2981 or online at byuarts.com.
