Name: Justin Dyer
BYU employee since: 2010
My job at BYU is… to teach religion classes on the family. It’s the best!
I’m currently working on… research about mental health and religion. I do a lot of research on Utah adolescents and how religion relates to their mental well-being.
I'm currently reading... probably something by Brandon Sanderson.
I get most excited about my work when… I discover things no one else knows. Especially things that are helpful to people.
Working with students who struggle with their mental health ...sparked my interest in my field.
My favorite part about teaching is… when my students and I experience “aha!” moments, seeing things in a way we haven't before.
My favorite lecture to teach is… about the eternal family and the nature of God.
When I have 30 minutes of free time, you can find me…running some analyses on fun data I’ve found! I don't like to stay up late, but if I've found some great data, it's hard to put it down in the evenings.
I became a BYU fan when… I was born. My family has a long history at BYU.
My go-to BYU Creamery ice cream flavor is… Graham Canyon.
My go-to comfort food is… cereal.
