Name: John Bingham
BYU employee since: 2005
My job at BYU is... faculty member and an associate dean. I’m part of a team that provides strategic, academic and operational oversight to the Marriott School of Business at BYU. My specific role involves supporting the students and curriculum of our 10 undergraduate and four graduate programs and centers.
I’m currently working on... supporting our programs in preparing for a successful in-person fall semester. I’m teaching a class on leading and thriving in our Executive MBA program. I also am working on a few academic papers on employee exchanges in mission-driven work environments and unethical behavior.
Something I love about BYU is... the annual University Conference. The meetings and messages remind us of this remarkable place where we study and work in an environment of faith.
When I have 30 (or maybe 60) minutes of free time, you can find me... hiking in the local canyons.
Something that I’m really good at is... reading to my kids and tucking them in at night.
My go-to comfort food is... Magleby’s chocolate cake.
One of my secret talents is... I am pretty good at disco roller skating.
Something I’m particular about is... not letting food go to waste. I eat all the leftovers in the fridge at our house.
My favorite TV show growing up was... “The Greatest American Hero” and I know all the words to the theme song (as well as other '80s sitcom favorites)!
