Name: Chris Crowe
BYU employee since: 1993
My job at BYU is… I’m a professor of English, and I teach young adult literature, creative writing and courses for English majors who plan to become secondary teachers.
Currently I’m working on… a historical novel.
Ken Donelson, my dissertation chair at Arizona State University … sparked my interest in my field.
Students don’t think I notice… when they’re texting, Instagramming or are online during class.
My advice to incoming freshman is… get to know the professors in your major.
My advice to graduating seniors is… don’t take yourself too seriously.
My go-to comfort food is… a hamburger and fries from In-N-Out or a veggie salad from Café Rio.
The title of my autobiography would be… How Did That Happen?
My favorite quote is… "Don’t sacrifice what you want most for what you want now."
