Todd Hollingshead

Todd's primary roles for BYU include writing feature stories and pitching them to national and local media, serving as a spokesperson and managing one of BYU’s social media accounts. He's also the point of contact for journalists looking for data & information requests or expert sources from our faculty.   

Todd graduated from BYU with a bachelor's degree in communications in 2004 and added a master's degree in communications in 2012. Before coming to BYU, he worked as a news reporter for The Daily Herald and The Salt Lake Tribune. Todd has worked in University Communications since 2007. He teaches an undergraduate public relations class in the Communications Department and loves the chance to be part of the students' lives.   

He loves working with the people in his department and across BYU and counts himself lucky to have witnessed the Jimmer years in person.

Researchers at the University of Iowa and Brigham Young University have pinpointed a gene that causes cancer patients to develop resistance to drug therapy. The discovery is a first step in creating new, effective therapeutic treatments for sufferers of aggressive cancers such as multiple myeloma that respond poorly to treatment.
