Withdrawal deadlines changed for this semester

After careful review, the President's Council has approved a change for this semester in the withdrawal deadlines in order to provide students and faculty with greater flexibility and more options.

Students may withdraw from classes online anytime until the withdrawal deadline. For fall semester, 2009, the new withdrawal date will be November 9. For fall semester, second block, the new withdrawal date will be November 20. The fee for withdrawing will still apply.

Those who choose to take advantage of this extended opportunity to withdraw from classes must be aware that no tuition will be refunded as a result of their action and that a "W" indicating withdrawal from the course will be posted on the student's university record and will be visible on an official university transcript.

Please be aware that withdrawing from classes may impact scholarship eligibility, campus employment and financial aid. Check with the appropriate office on any of these matters. For withdrawal dates for future semesters and terms, please check the official university academic calendar (http://saas.byu.edu/calendar/).
