Church History Symposium: The Brigham Young University Church History Symposium, “The Worldwide Church: The Global Reach of Mormonism,” will be held Thursday at Brigham Young University in Provo and Friday at the LDS Conference Center in Salt Lake City. Participants will explore the Church’s impact and presence on the global stage and how it is adjusting to meet the needs of an international membership Admission is free and open to the public. No reservations are needed to attend the event. The symposium will begin Thursday in the BYU Conference Center at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 4:30 p.m. The keynote address at 7:00 p.m. will be given by Terry L. Givens, professor of literature and religion at the University of Richmond, where he holds the James A. Bostwick Chair in English. The symposium will continue Friday at the Conference Center from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The keynote address at 9:00 a.m. will be given by President Dieter F. Central Utah Science and Engineering Fair: The Central Utah Science and Engineering Fair is a regional science competition presented by the David O. McKay School of Education and the BYU-Public School Partnership. BYU team helps create diagnostic tool that achieves accuracy of PCR tests with faster, simpler nanopore system

A new diagnostic tool developed by Brigham Young University and UC Santa Cruz researchers can test for SARS-CoV-2 and Zika virus with the same or better accuracy as high-precision PCR tests in a matter of hours.
