Monday through Thursday, Aug. 5-8

Youth Ballroom Dance Camp:In its 25th year at BYU, the Youth Ballroom Dance Camp offers four days of dancing, socializing and performing. Youth will gain up to 20 hours of training in a variety of dances, and participants will be taught under the watchful eye of top ballroom instructors. Recreation includes a dance party with pizza and ice cream, a trip to Seven Peaks Water Park and a closing banquet where each participant will showcase what he or she has learned. Tuesday, Aug. 6

University Devotional: Kristin Matthews, associate professor of English and a BYU Alcuin Fellow, will give an address titled “The Worth of Souls is Great” at the campus devotional at 11:05 a.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall. The devotional will be broadcast live on the BYU Broadcasting channels and online at byutv.org. Rebroadcast information can be found through byutv.org/schedule. Archived devotionals are available at speeches.byu.edu. Summer term devotionals will also be broadcast on campus in F-210 Harris Fine Art Center, the Joseph Smith Building Auditorium and the Wilkinson Student Center Varsity Theatre.

Organ Workshop: The BYU Organ Workshop is an intensive four-day program designed for organ skill-building for all skill levels. The workshop will help participants develop their own organ-playing proficiency as well as acquire key pedagogical skills for teaching. Smaller classes will give participants personalized attention and hands-on instruction and practice with faculty members who are capable and talented organists with years of experience. Three workshop highlights give participants inspiring evenings to remember — a workshop Hymn Sing, an organ recital and a behind-the-scenes visit to the organs in the world-renowned Tabernacle at Temple Square and Conference Center in Salt Lake City, as well as organs in other locales. Vocal Beauty Boot Camp: This camp is a four-day singing program for adults and teachers of all experience levels. Whether you think your singing is already beautiful or undeveloped, and no matter the amount of training you may have had, you will see developments in your voice throughout the week. The only requirements for successful growth during this course will be your own love of beautiful singing, your capacity to entertain some new and scientifically sensible ideas, and your willingness to take some personal, public risks in order to grow. Academy of LDS Dentists: The 36th Annual Dental Conference is an exceptional opportunity to continue participants’ education, expand knowledge and skills, learn to increase performance and network with other LDS dental professionals. Annual BYU Campus Education Week: Campus Education Week classes — taught by 230 presenters, including returning faculty favorites — will begin each day at 8:30 a.m. Monday classes end at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday through Friday classes end at 9:25 p.m. More than 70 classes are available specifically for youth ages 14-18. BYU Education Week Devotional: Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be the speaker at the Campus Education Week devotional at 11:10 a.m. in the Marriott Center. For broadcast information, visit byutv.org.

Thursday through Wednesday, Aug. 22-28

Late Summer Honors: Sponsored by the BYU Honors Program, Late Summer Honors offers incoming freshmen an experience in one of 13 short honors courses, taught by some of BYU’s best professors, and participation in seminars, demonstrations, labs and workshops. Participating students will also earn one credit toward BYU Honors course work and prepare themselves for academic success in their first year at BYU. Saturday, Aug. 24

ACT Prep Course: A prep course offered through BYU to help students prepare to take the ACT exam will run through Oct. 19. More information about registration is available at testprep.byu.edu.

2013 Annual University Conference: The Annual University Conference is for full- and part-time employees only and is not open to student personnel. This year's conference theme is, “The meek will He guide in judgment: and the meek will He teach His way,” Psalms 25:9. The traditional university community breakfast will be served in Brigham Square beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Tickets can be obtained online beginning at 9 a.m. on July 15 at president.byu.edu/AUC/. There is a limit of two breakfast tickets per employee. The website will close at 4 p.m. Aug. 19.
