Weapons of mass destruction topic of Kennedy Center lecture May 3

The David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies at Brigham Young University will host Kerry M. Kartchner from the Advanced Systems and Concepts Office in Washington, D.C., for a Global Awareness Lecture Wednesday, May 3, at noon in 238 Herald R. Clark Building.

Admission is free and the public is welcome.

Kartchner, a foreign affairs advisor at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, will discuss “Weapons of Mass Destruction in the Crucible of Strategic Culture.”

With more than 20 years of experience in the field of national security affairs, Kartchner previously served as senior representative of the U.S. Department of State to the U.S. Component of the Standing Consultative Commission in Geneva, Switzerland.

He has also received various awards and authored or co-authored several books and publications. He earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations from BYU and master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Southern California.
