Vocal Point plans performances at BYU, Provo's Covey Center

Vocal Point, Brigham Young University’s celebrated male a cappella group, will perform in concert Saturday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets are $12, with $2 discounts available for students or individuals with a BYU ID. For tickets, visit the Fine Arts Ticket Office, (801) 422-4322 or byuarts.com/tickets

Vocal Point will also perform at the Covey Center for the Arts Friday and Saturday, March 8-9. Tickets for the Covey Center performances are $12 for reserved seating, with a $2 discount available for students. Tickets can be purchased online at coveycenter.org.

The concert will feature new songs, but will still have the same high caliber of entertainment and skill Vocal Point is famous for. Directed by McKay Crockett, the program will include new arrangements of “Set Fire to the Rain” by Adele, “Good Time” by Owl City, and a collection of crowd favorites including “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” by the Temptations.

The nine-man singing group has been performing for more than 20 years since its start by two students who got the BYU Music Department to adopt them into their program. Their popularity has grown in recent years, due to their appearance the NBC show “The Sing-Off” and their use of new media and videos on YouTube.
