Vocal Point plans pair of concerts at Covey Center Nov. 1-2

Vocal Point, Brigham Young University’s celebrated male a cappella group, will perform in concert at the Covey Center for the Arts on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1-2, at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will feature new songs and new group members, but will still have the same high-caliber entertainment and skill Vocal Point is famous for. Tickets for the event are $12 for reserved seating, with a $2 discount available for students. Tickets can be purchased online at coveycenter.org.

In June the group performed a two-week tour in Nauvoo and sang at the Joseph Smith Martyrdom Commemoration. Additionally, the group will release a new contemporary adult album in the spring of 2014.

The nine-man singing group has been performing for more than 20 years since its start by two students who got the BYU Music Department to adopt them into its program. Their popularity has grown in recent years, due to their appearance the NBC show “The Sing-Off” and their use of new media and videos on YouTube.
