Victorian Christmas artwork topic for BYU exhibit through Dec. 24

The Harold B Lee Library at Brigham Young University is opening a new exhibit , “Rising to the Occasion: Crafting Christmas with the Victorian Middle Class,” located in the main lobby of L. Tom Perry Special Collections on  level one.

Admission is free and the public is welcome. The exhibit will be on display every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Christmas.

The exhibit was assembled by Lauran Fuller, Rosie Hadden, Shaina Robbins and Kandace Wheelwright, four master’s students in Leslee Thorne-Murphy’s English seminar class. It contains illustrations focusing on the arts of a Victorian-era Christmas.

Innovative group of BYU students roll out new AI tech to solve parking problems

A group of enterprising BYU students aim to significantly — if not entirely — reduce parking violations in paid parking lots, college and otherwise. And their idea, an AI detection and tracking system called Spot Parking (more on that in a minute), just got a major endorsement and $12,000 in cash by winning the 2024 BYU Student Innovator of the Year (SIOY) competition.
