University Strings, Orchestra plan free concert Dec. 11

The Brigham Young University School of Music will present a concert by the University Strings and Orchestra on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Provo High School Auditorium.

Admission to the performance, which will be conducted by Marc Baxter and Lev Ivanov, will be free. The public is welcome to attend.

The program will feature the University Strings performing “Autumn” by Antonio Vivaldi, the “Brook Green Suite” by Gustav Holst, “Shepherd’s Hey” by Percy Grainger and the “Holberg Suite” by Edvard Grieg.

The University Orchestra will perform “Corolian Overture” by Ludwig Van Beethoven, “On the Steppes of Central Asia” by Alexander Borodin, “Eljen a Magyar” by Johann Strauss and the Overture to “The Bartered Bride”by Bedrich Smetana.
