University of Michigan's Alison Davis-Blake to speak at BYU forum Nov. 13

Alison Davis-Blake, dean of the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, will present a Brigham Young University campus forum address, “Building Your Positive Business Career,” Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center.

The devotional will be broadcast live on the BYU Broadcasting channels and online at byutv.org. Rebroadcast and archive information will be available at byutv.org or speeches.byu.edu.

Davis-Blake is an expert on strategic human resource management and organizational design for effective management of human capital. Her research interests include the effects of outsourcing on organizations and employees, organizational employment, salary and promotion systems, and the determinants and consequences of using contingent workers.

She has held editorial positions with theAdministrative Science QuarterlyandAcademy of Management Review.  She has taught courses in organization theory, organizational behavior and strategic human-resource management for undergraduate, MBA and doctoral students.   

Davis-Blake received her bachelor’s degree in economics and MBA degree from BYU. She earned her doctorate in organizational behavior from Stanford University in 1986.
