Two BYU athletic trainers named to Rocky Mountain Hall of Fame

Two former athletic trainers from Brigham Young University, George Curtis and Kenneth Knight, were inducted into the Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers Association Hall of Fame April 22 during a banquet celebration in Salt Lake City.

Curtis, former head athletic trainer at BYU, was inducted into the Utah Athletic Trainers Association in 2004 and previously served as the UATA president. He also received the National Athletic Training Service Award, the Outstanding Football Athletic Trainer Award and the T&C "Above the Call" Award for saving a fellow faculty member's life. Before coming to BYU in 1985, Curtis worked as the head trainer for the Los Angeles Express of the USFL.

Knight, a professor of exercise sciences at BYU, previously served as director of the BYU Human Performance Research Center. He also worked as the head athletic trainer at Weber State University, as associate athletic trainer and instructor at The State University of New York at Brockport and as an athletic trainer, professor and department chair at Indiana State University in Terre Haute.
