Trumpet Studio Recital at BYU Jan. 26

Brigham Young University's School of Music presents a Trumpet Studio Recital on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Student performers in the concert will play a variety of pieces from various composers including Henri Tomasi, Eugene Bozza, Eric Ewazen and Samuel Scheidt.

Five trumpeters will perform solo pieces while being accompanied by the piano. Students performing solos include Jason Bergman, Jared Hearld, Randy Lee, Seretta Hart and Michelle Mingledorff.

Other students performing in the recital include Erin Cox, Courtney Hohl, Kyle Miller, Anthony Phan and Nathan Sheranian.

BYU study finds the real reasons why some people choose not to use artificial intelligence

In a recent study, BYU professors Jacob Steffen and Taylor Wells explored why some people are still reluctant to use GenAI tools. While some people might worry about an AI apocalypse, Steffen and Wells found that most non-users are more concerned with issues like trusting the results, missing the human touch or feeling unsure if GenAI is ethical to use.

In the largest and most comprehensive meta-analysis of its kind, BYU researchers—in collaboration with researchers from Germany-based institutions—found that the type and source of sugar may matter far more than previously thought.
