The Brigham Young University BRAVO! Professional Performing Arts series presents Kelli O'Hara, Tony Award-winning Broadway star of The King and I, in the de Jong Concert Hall on Friday, Sept. 4, at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $25-55, with discounts available for alumni, seniors and students. Tickets can be purchased in person at the BYU Ticket Office in the Harris Fine Arts Center or Marriott Center, by phone at 801-422-2981 or online at byuarts.com.

O'Hara will perform some of her signature songs, favorite show tunes and classics from the American songbook.

A native of Oklahoma, O'Hara has unequivocally established herself as one of Broadway's great leading ladies. She received five Tony Award Nominations before her recent portrayal of Anna Leonowens in Lincoln Center Theater's critically acclaimed revival of The King and I garnered her a Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical, along with Drama League and Outer Critics nominations.

Her impressive career and recent noteworthy accomplishments prompted Jeff Martin, producer of performing arts for the College of Fine Arts and Communications and presenter of the BRAVO! Series, to open the fall 2015 BRAVO! series with O'Hara, calling her, "a gifted actor, singer, and communicator - a storyteller with few equals."

"It could easily be said that Ms. O'Hara is becoming the premier interpreter of the Roger and Hammerstein's canon for a new generation of theatregoers," said Martin.

O'Hara currently stars in Lincoln Center Theater's acclaimed Broadway revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre in New York City.

O'Hara's performance is sponsored by Scott and Liesl Shurtliff and BRAVO! Professional Performing Arts at BYU, the university's concert series that hosts world-renowned guest artists from across the globe.
