Tickets available Feb. 15 for popular Passover Services at BYU

Jeffrey Chadwick, a Brigham Young University Religious Education faculty member and a specialist in Jewish studies, will host the annual Passover Seder Services March 31 and April 7-8, 14-15 and 29 at 6:30 p.m. in 3228 Wilkinson Student Center on the BYU campus.

Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 15, and are $25 for the public and $17 for BYU students, faculty and staff. They are available for purchase at 271 Joseph Smith Building.

For more than 30 years, BYU has sponsored a Passover celebration. The experience can help enrich one’s appreciation of the ancient Old Testament and the modern Jewish celebration commemorating the deliverance of Israel from Egypt.

The genuine Passover Seder Service at BYU includes unleavened bread, bitter herbs and other traditions of Passover, along with a special catered meal.

“Jeffrey Chadwick is excited to participate in the services this year,” said Patty Smith, supervisor of BYU's Religious Education Faculty Support Center. “He has lived in Jerusalem and has hosted several Passover services.”

Victor L. Ludlow, who has overeseen the BYU Passover program for more than three decades, is away from campus on a professional teaching leave.

For more information, call the Passover hotline at (801) 422-8325 or contact Patty Smith at (801) 422-3611.
