Taiwan Film Festival at BYU includes screenings, lectures

The 2006 Taiwan Film Festival, to be held in part at Brigham Young University during the first week of October, will showcase feature and documentary films that reflect the quality, range and vitality of contemporary Taiwanese film-making.

There will be three lectures held during this festival:

  • Oct. 3: BYU political science professor Eric Hyer will speak on "Taiwan Yesterday and Today," at 4 p.m. in 238 Herald R. Clark Building.

  • Oct. 4: BYU Chinese professor Steven Riep will present "Reunification Considered" at 5:30 p.m. in the Harold B. Lee Library Auditorium.

  • Oct. 5: BYU Chinese professor Steven Riep will present "Recovering Taiwan's Lost Past" at 4:30 p.m. in 238 Herald R. Clark Building. All events are free, and the public is welcome to attend.
