String Chamber Night features student artists March 17

The Brigham Young University School of Music presents String Chamber Night Thursday, March 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall. Admission is free.

The program includes compositions by Antonin Dvorak, Bedrich Smetana, Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Felix Mendelssohn and Bohuslav Martinu.

The performers are split into chamber groups such as string trios and string quartets, some appearing with piano. There are a few groups with unusual instrumentation, including a trio for flute, viola and harp as well as one with flute, cello and piano, said Claudine Bigelow, School of Music chamber music coordinator.
