Stanley Johnson featured at June 5 BYU devotional

Stanley Johnson, a teaching professor in Religious Education, will give an address at the weekly Brigham Young University devotional Tuesday, June 5, at 11:05 a.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

His remarks are titled “The Simpleness of the Way.”

It will be broadcast live on KBYU-TV (Channel 11), BYUtv, KBYU-FM (89.1), BYU-Radio and at byutv.org, as well as on campus in the Joseph Smith Building auditorium and the Varsity Theater in the Wilkinson Student Center. For rebroadcast and reprint information, visit byutv.org or speeches.byu.edu.

Before teaching at BYU as a professor of ancient scripture, Johnson received his doctoral degree in education from BYU in 1979 in curriculum and instruction. He has served as a seminary and institute teacher for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and as a teacher trainer in the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was principal of one of the largest seminaries for the Church in Orem, Utah. Johnson currently serves on the materials evaluation committee for the Church.
