Senior Showcase will feature BYU student choreography Nov. 21-22

The Brigham Young University Department of Dance presents the Senior Dance Showcase Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21-22, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dance Studio Theatre, 166 Richards Building.

Tickets are $6 and can be purchased by calling the Fine Arts Ticket Office at (801) 422-4322 or visiting byuarts.com.

The showcase will feature the choreographic work of seniors graduating in dance.

BYU dance student Holly Taylor’s piece will collaborate with violin music, Starla Briggs’ work will incorporate gospel music from the South and Ashley Leonard’s choreography will involve photography.

Other students will present a wide variety of choreography, including pieces from students LeAnne Lindsay and Ashley Oblad.

The work is the result of senior projects performed as a capstone experience for the students. The project allows students to demonstrate their understanding of performance, technique and composition.

For more information, contact Caroline Prohosky at (801) 422-3345.
