School of Music offers limited number of free piano lessons for children

A  limited number of spaces are available for free piano lessons for children ages six to 10 for fall semester. The lessons will be taught by seniors and graduate students who are piano performance majors in the BYU School of Music as part of a supervised teaching pedagogy course.

The child does not have to be a beginning student to participate. Interested parents should own or rent a piano and should plan on assisting their child daily with their practicing. As part of the program, the child will need to attend 20 minutes of one class period on campus. The class meets Tuesdays from 10 to 10:50 a.m.

Those interested should email Richard Anderson at richard_anderson@byu.edu with the child’s name, age and the parent’s contact information. Students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and only those accepted will be contacted.
