Prior to his call to the First Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was also senior vice president of Intermountain Health Care.

Sharon Giauque Samuelson graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in history. She also earned her teaching certification and taught school for many years. Besides being a mother of five and working as a full-time homemaker, she is also active in the community and has held leadership positions in all auxiliary organizations of the Church of Jesus Christ.
